If you are a regular to San Francisco, I assume you already know about Fog City News. If you haven’t been there yet, you are missing out!
I admit this store is a uncommon combination of amazing newstand (a huge inventory of over a 1000 magazines and God knows how many newspapers) plus a huge selection of over 200 chocolates but don’t let that distract you. This store carries a great selection of chocolate and the staff knows their stuff.
I shop Fog City News everytime I am in downtown San Fran and I always find something new to try. The staff has tasted the products too, so their input comes from first-hand knowledge. Fog City news carries the best selection of local bay area chocolatiers plus a good mix of artisan people from around the world. They also have frequent events where you can meet people from the industry. I have stopped by there and met Fran Bigelow there as well as the guys from Patric and Rogue Chocolatier, just to name some recent ones. 
So make you sure you stop by and enjoy one of the best places in San Francisco!
……Remember, life is too short to eat crappy chocolate!
